What is VIR?

VIR is used to describe 3 things in a circuit. Voltage, shown as V. Current, Shown as I. Resistance, shown as R.

Each of these names also has a value linked to it. Voltage is still shown as V for volts, Current is measured in Amps which is shown as an A and Resistance is measured in Ohms which is shown through this symbol: Ω.

There are a few math equations that are associated with these values. A good way to remember them is through the triangle below.

To use this triangle you simply cover the letter you are trying to find.

This triangle can show many formulas that are helpful for calculating values:

If you cover the V you are left with I x R

If you cover I you are left with V/R

Lastly, If you cover R you are left with V/I

These are helpful for calculating the different kinds of values that are in a circuit.
