Refraction is when light passes through an object and it bends
Materials: Any coin, a transparent cup or glass, and water
Procedure:
- Get a coin and a glass
- Place the coin below the glass
- Then fill the glass with water
- If you look from the side of the cup/glass the coin disappears
- But if you look from the top you can see the coin
The kids will learn about refraction and how the water bends the light so the coin is not visible anymore
