Paperclip

Surface Tension is an effect where the surface of a liquid is strong

Materials: Paper clips, Water in a bowl, Tissue paper, and Pencil with an eraser

Procedure:

  1. Make sure that the bowl is filled with water
  2. Tear a piece of tissue paper
  3. Drop the piece of tissue on the water surface
  4. Place the paper clip on the top of the tissue. Make sure that you won’t touch the water in doing so
  5. Using the eraser end of the pencil, poke the tissue to make it sink. If you did it correctly, the paperclip will floatPaper clip can float on water, due to high surface tension of water
