What is a Servo Motor

A Servo Motor is a small device that commonly has a small rod that spins. The most common type of Servo Motor is a DC motor.

A DC motor works in a way that allows it to turn based on power alone. If power flows through a DC motor one way the rod turns that way. If power is sent though a different way the motor spins another way.

Most DC motors have a connector with 3 wires: Positive, Negative and Signal. Positive and Negative are the power wires while the Signal wire is used for transferring code the tell the motor how far to turn.
